I noticed there are less chest spawns too, especially in RoT, and there have been some spawns in very strange places, one in mid-air (where later a pillar falls down with a quest) and one about 0.6/0.7 argo circle range "behind" a portal (both in The Desolation)

Just CR'ed Nightfallen Jahai couple of times. 1st run only had 3 chests spawned. 2nd run, nothing at all. Either they switch the spawn positions of the chests or they nerf it.

Oh yeah I notice some of the kurzick chests spawned in unreachable areas such as middle of a tree trunk or on a unreachable slope.

This is a real issue. I can confirm this as i run chests every day, many runs.

After this update its not always 5 anymore, now it can go as low as 3.
From my experience after update:
~40-45% runs still have 5 chests spawning
~40-45% runs have only 4 chests spawn
~10-15% runs have only 3 chests spawn

This update has changed the spawnin algorithm so some spawn locations are different, thats probably the reason some people find less than 3 chests - just look carefully.

So i want to hear an official response on this issue : Is it a hidden nerf or a bugged update ??

I've noticed this too. I'm currently playing my necro through Desolation and I always take 5 keys with me because I go for GMC at the same time. In past few days after I've fully scouted area and went to outpost I've still had 1-2 keys in my inventory while previously I always had 5 chests in every area, so something is wrong :/. Also there's that one chest in Mourning Veil Falls which is always in the wall and you just can't get to it.

I like to run through Bazdha Wilderness and I've also seen fewer chests lately in that I come back with keys still in my inventory. My experience is not as scientific as some above, but I've definitely noticed this over the past few days (and I wasn't influenced by the existence of this thread as I hadn't seen it until now).

Edit: just remembered that I also run the Ruptured Heart and I'd noticed the same thing there as well.

this has happened since.. dunno, around june '06(guesstimate) when "I" reached the thicket area.. so it's not something new if that's what ya trying to say.

I've just had a Poisoned Outcrops run with only 2 chests spawned. I have triple checked - ran whole area 3 times looking for possible spawns out of reach but found none.

This becomes pretty annoying, what was the reason for such a nerf? Or if it's a bug, are devs even aware of it?

Ever since the update where they *fixed* DoA chests, all chests have been screwy.
